This is the concise source of truth for Ashes Beneath the Sun.

If a recovered chapter, older continuity note, future preview, arc draft, OVA, or loose note conflicts with this file, this file wins until canon is deliberately revised.

Authority and hierarchy

• The central hidden figure is referred to here as the Master. Recovered chapters often use the Mystery Man as an older draft label for the same role.
• The broad hierarchy is Master → Vesper → NULL-01 / apex anti-anomaly experiments → Cerberus → Umbra. NULL-01 can interfere with Vesper’s rules but is not initially stronger than her.
• Vesper is fully autonomous and serves the Master by choice. Her personal curiosity, respect, amusement, or interest never outranks his objectives.
• If the Master orders Victoria killed, Vesper genuinely attempts to complete the order. She does not secretly train Victoria, throw fights, preserve her for a rematch, or plan a rebellion.
• The Master should not constantly humiliate Vesper to prove superiority. His position is better shown through Vesper’s voluntary loyalty, rare effortless demonstrations, and the fact that someone of her power considers him worth serving.

Master and Vesper

• Vesper was not created by the Master. She is not a laboratory construct, rebuilt human, synthetic assistant, or one of his experimental lines.
• Vesper is an ancient supernatural being who has existed for at least several centuries. Her exact species, origin, and upper age remain unknown.
• The Master’s own origin is unresolved. He must not be reduced to an ordinary contemporary young scientist; his apparent age is misleading and his lifespan exceeds a normal human life.
• Both normally appear physically young, broadly in their twenties and no older-looking than roughly thirty.
• Chronological age does not determine their hierarchy. Which of them is older remains deliberately unresolved.
• Their relationship is emotionally close without making the Master intentionally flirtatious. He is attached to Vesper and naturally notices her habits and absence, but is largely oblivious to the romantic framing; Vesper is more aware of it.
• Vesper’s title The Assistant is meaningful and chosen. It is not an insult or a role she secretly wants to escape.

Victoria mainline

• Victoria’s long progression is performative confidence → humiliation → survival → discipline → competence → leadership → anomalous power → confrontation with a much larger hierarchy.
• Asterra is Victoria’s country. Veyr is its neighboring rival. The Karsk Corridor is the established geopolitical flashpoint.
• Victoria progresses from media personality to survivor to trained OECR field consultant and anomalous-response specialist. She advises institutions rather than unrealistically commanding every domain herself.
• Chapters 1–30 are current written canon through the aftermath of Operation Breakwater.
• At the end of Chapter 14, Cerberus is ACTIVE — UNLOCATED, not defeated, and that remains true through the current written endpoint.
• A period of several months separates Redstone from the Black Archive heist. That interval is used for political fallout, multinational coordination, rebuilding, and formalizing Aegis Meridian from programs that already existed.
• Chapters 15–18 cover post-Redstone fallout → formation of Aegis Meridian → Black Archive Node K-0 → Vesper’s heist → Meridian’s defeat → the successful opening of the NULL-01 phase.
• Victoria follows the initial battle from Analysis West inside K-0. Isolation shutters and route verification delay her physical arrival at the cold room. She has only a brief exit encounter after Vesper’s objective is complete.
• Victoria still does not learn Vesper’s personal name at K-0. When asked, Vesper answers “Not yet.” The direct personal-name reveal remains reserved for H-9.
• At the Chapter 19 point, all six Aegis Meridian members are alive and recovering, K-0 has lost the unique Glass-derived sample and calibrated working apparatus; offline research records survive, the broader Black Archive network remains operational, and NULL-01 has awakened. By the current Chapter 30 endpoint, Sera Kade is dead, Imani Saye has been defeated but abducted alive by Dr. Corinne Mavrek, the surviving Aegis members are recovering, and the rival Black Flame branch remains active.
• Chapter 19 opens Project NULL / NULL-01; Chapters 20–30 then follow the external Veyr Black Flame branch, the Ash crisis, Imani’s takeover, Sera’s death, and Operation Breakwater. NULL-01 remains active and strategically relevant after Breakwater.
• The H-9 / Vesper true-form file is a future preview set many arcs later, not the immediate next chapter and not Vesper’s defeat arc.

Early survival continuity

All ten women introduced in Chapter 1 survive the initial reserve escape. Elena Ruiz, June Barrett, Lien Nguyen, and Nadia Okafor are less central to later OECR field work, but they do not disappear or die off-page. Chapter 3’s corroboration refers to six of the survivors independently giving matching descriptions, not to there being only six survivors total.

Black Flame

Black Flame is one rule-based anomalous phenomenon, not ordinary fire and not a license for unrelated powers.

• It does not cast normal illumination; it is described as darkness, distortion, absence, or flame-shaped negative space.
• It can reorganize matter toward stored structural templates.
• Large restoration cannot create unlimited matter from nothing; it requires substrate, stored biomass, or energy.
• It can convert organized matter or energy into usable substrate. More advanced users can apply this with far greater precision.
• Mastery differs by user: Umbra is instinctive and crude, Cerberus is distributed and adaptive, NULL-01 is engineered around anti-anomaly interactions, Vesper is conscious and programmable, and the Master’s source-level mastery remains unrevealed.

Umbra Maw / U-01 / NULL-00

• U-01 is catastrophic by human standards but low-tier relative to the hidden hierarchy.
• In the Master’s later Project NULL lineage, U-01 is retrospectively treated as NULL-00: a crude precursor whose adaptation and continuity mechanics proved useful but insufficient.
• U-01 remains the historical field designation used by the people who fought it; NULL-00 is a later internal lineage designation.
• It adapts rapidly, not instantly.
• Sunlight and sufficiently intense broad-spectrum light can overwhelm its restoration.
• Forest-scale restoration at Site Echo depends on the prepared biome anchor; U-01 cannot rebuild arbitrary ecosystems anywhere.
• HELIOS kills U-01 by overwhelming its continuity process and damaging the physical anchor/core maintaining its template.
• Operation Nightfall’s twenty-day run is enabled by fragmented jurisdiction, private staging land outside the reserve, delayed national authority, public disbelief, and legal/political hesitation after the first incidents. The government does not simply ignore an obvious monster for three weeks.

Cerberus

Cerberus’s defining rule is:

One distributed cognitive state across partitioned biomass. What one body learns, all active bodies know.

• It is one mind expressed through multiple active bodies, not several minds sharing a memory.
• It has finite biomass and may partition that biomass into specialized bodies.
• More partitions mean less mass and durability available to each body.
• Severe restoration has real cost. Cerberus can reclaim organic substrate and reorganize existing mass, but large Daybreak losses permanently reduce available field biomass unless it later scavenges or enters a rebuilding period.
• It can share learned information, reshape in response to observed threats, imitate learned voices, build limited biological disguises, infer observed systems, and recombine bodies.
• Cerberus has no inherent flight, vector-control, or inertial-cancellation ability. Its Redstone insertion uses a disposable external delivery shell from the Master’s launch system; the shell provides guidance, propulsion, and acceleration compensation and is shed before combat.
• It cannot create unlimited mass, perfectly copy someone instantly, know an unseen system by plot convenience, adapt before receiving enough information, or become automatically immune to every attack.
• When Cerberus defeats authentication or machinery, the prose must show an information path: observed maintenance procedures, sampled physical traces, exposed diagnostics, direct contact with components, or biological bridging of circuits. It does not possess undefined technopathy.
• If it powers a disconnected device, it must physically bridge or energize the circuit with its own tissue/substrate rather than remotely commanding dead electronics.
• Redstone must remain competent. Cerberus defeats it by attacking assumptions, allocation, trust, and institutional behavior—not because the facility is foolish.
• Redstone holds seven major anomalies. Cerberus releases six and deliberately leaves Glass Seven sealed.
• Glass Seven itself remains unresolved. A Glass-Seven-derived research sample created during earlier testing exists separately from the sealed anomaly and later becomes important to the Black Archive and Project NULL.

Naming guardrails around “Seven”

• Glass Seven is the setting’s meaningful unresolved “Seven” designation.
• Archive 7-G is an older Asterran administrative archive code and is not named after Glass Seven.
• The later future specimen is H-9, not H-7, to avoid implying an unintended numerical connection.

Aegis Meridian

Aegis Meridian is a multinational anomalous-response hero unit formally assembled after Redstone from pre-existing classified national programs. Its members did not receive advanced powers and training overnight.

Before Redstone, different governments already maintained separate anomalous responders, experimental augmentation programs, rescue specialists, and classified research teams. Redstone proves that compartmentalization between allies is itself a strategic weakness and produces the political mandate to combine selected personnel under a standing joint command.

Core members:

• Kaia Venn / Vector Saint — creates short-lived directional fields that bend trajectories and redistribute momentum. Uses field anchors and compact coil-lance weapons.
• Dorian Rook / Gravemarch — can increase his body’s effective mass and inertia without proportionally increasing size. Uses Rookspine, a segmented breaching staff whose sections can launch and relock along magnetic rails.
• Sera Kade / White Banner — uses neuromuscular overclocking, accelerated reactions, pain suppression, balance control, and short bursts of extreme physical output. Fights with a split spear that can separate into paired close-range weapons.
• Niko Vale / Threadstep — creates temporary tension lines between surfaces for traversal, rescue, restraint, and midair redirection; also has unusually fast sensory processing.
• Imani Saye / Stillglass — wears impact-redistributing anti-anomaly armor and can create brief local null windows that weaken some anomalous effects around her. The codename is deliberately not “Nullglass” so it is not confused with Project NULL.
• Dr. Anya Sol / Palinode — creates short-lived perceptual revisions that cause nearby minds to misremember the immediate sequence of an action, producing false spatial expectations without rewriting long-term memory.

Aegis Meridian’s function in the Black Archive arc is to demonstrate the best organized human response available at that stage of the story. All six survive the K-0 battle, but their current doctrine is judged combat-ineffective against Vesper. Their competence and survival leave room for later adaptation rather than treating the team as disposable.

The Black Archive network and Node K-0

The Black Archive is not one giant vault.

It is a multinational distributed anomaly-storage and research protocol built specifically after Redstone teaches governments to avoid single points of failure. Records, authority, recoverable samples, and research are spread across hardened nodes in several countries. No node contains the entire system and no single master database can expose everything at once.

The heist occurs at Black Archive Node K-0 because K-0 contains one unavoidable physical bottleneck: the only known stable Glass-Seven-derived sample outside Glass Seven’s sealed containment.

Older researchers accidentally created this derivative in a metastable, path-dependent rule-interference state. They learned how to preserve and measure it but never reproduced the manufacturing event. Later attempts either destroyed the active state or produced inert material.

The Master can recognize the derivative’s value and model parts of its behavior, but he cannot simply synthesize the exact state on demand. This is why Vesper must retrieve the human-preserved sample.

He is not raiding a centralized archive because humanity forgot Redstone’s lesson; he is targeting the one thing humanity cannot duplicate or distribute.

During the heist:

• Vesper infiltrates Node K-0 through morphic disguise and perceptual desynchronization, then uses Seamstep only after her cover is challenged.
• She retrieves the unique sample and destroys the working calibration bank and preservation apparatus. An offline escrow of research records survives at another node; it cannot replace the lost physical state or calibrated instruments.
• The broader Archive network survives K-0’s compromise.
• Aegis Meridian escalates intelligently.
• Threadstep forces a vertical pursuit and improves his restraint geometry after his first contact.
• White Banner’s overclocking lets her perceive and pressure Vesper briefly at close range, at severe physical cost.
• Vector Saint’s prepared control space is superseded by Vesper’s Vector Sovereignty.
• Vesper captures and violently reassigns one of Gravemarch’s launched Rookspine segments.
• Stillglass becomes the first human system in the arc to make Black Flame and a forming spatial seam visibly misbehave, before Vesper defeats the armor through direct speed, force, and a Black Flame sword strike.
• Palinode’s perceptual revision fails as a decisive counter because Vesper can track false and true action streams in parallel; Anya nevertheless lands a clever shot by revising her own immediate expectation.
• Vesper is forced to move, counter, reposition, use her sword, alter local geometry, and expose technical versatility. This fight does not duplicate H-9’s later almost-motionless one-finger domination.
• Vesper briefly exposes only an incomplete crown/halo geometry while parallel-tracking Palinode’s revisions. This is not her complete true form.
• Carrying the Glass-derived sample destabilizes at least one attempted long Seamstep, establishing that the derivative can interfere with Vesper-level mechanisms without making her weaker overall.
• Neither Aegis nor Victoria learns Vesper’s personal name. Reports may call her the Assistant or the Archive intruder. Victoria learns the name “Vesper” at H-9.

Project NULL / NULL-01

Project NULL is the Master’s attempt to build an organism capable of interfering with anomalous and supernatural rules, rather than merely overpowering conventional threats.

Its primary strategic purpose is external: rival Black Flame lineages, foreign experiment programs, high-order supernatural beings, and anomalies whose internal rules make brute-force escalation inefficient. It is not chiefly a contingency against Vesper.

Vesper is the most useful internal benchmark because the Master understands her capabilities unusually well. A system that can briefly interfere with one of her mechanisms is meaningful even while remaining below her overall.

• U-01 / Umbra is retrospectively NULL-00, a crude precursor.
• Cerberus remains a separate distributed-cognition branch.
• The unique Glass-Seven-derived sample recovered from Node K-0 is a critical component, catalyst, or reference substrate for the successful phase.
• At the end of Chapter 18 the sample produces the first coherent response in the unfinished NULL-01 frame, including a brief chamber-wide continuity-sensor drop, and the organism opens its eyes.
• Chapter 19 establishes that early NULL-01 learns denial specifically rather than universally: it needs repeated exposure, denial weakens with distance, simultaneous complexity is limited, and changing a mechanism can force it to relearn the target.
• In its first controlled Vesper benchmark, Null briefly disrupts Seamstep, Vector Sovereignty, and Black Flame Continuity at different moments, but cannot sustain all of them and is defeated decisively by conventional force and by Vesper changing the underlying mechanism faster than Null can model it.
• The resulting entity is NULL-01, commonly shortened to Null.
• Null’s defining capability is local rule denial: after identifying and interacting with a rule, Null can make that rule operate incorrectly or fail within a limited local region.
• Examples include disrupting regeneration, destabilizing spatial connections, weakening externally maintained reinforcement, or interrupting some supernatural continuity effects.
• Rule denial is not universal power cancellation. Null needs exposure/information, has finite range and capacity, can be resisted by sufficiently strong or unfamiliar phenomena, and cannot simply declare any desired law nonexistent.
• Null is designed to threaten entities in Vesper’s tier by interfering with how their abilities function, but Vesper remains above NULL-01 initially.
• Possessing Glass-derived material does not let Null reproduce Glass Seven’s unknown full nature.
• Null Star is a later evolution and not part of NULL-01’s starting kit. Its conceptual direction is causal severance: breaking the connection between two normally linked states such as wound ↔ regeneration, portal ↔ destination, summon ↔ summoner, or artifact ↔ sustaining source. Exact limits remain future-story material.

Vesper: capability and reveal guardrails

Vesper is catastrophically above human combatants, but her abilities should remain coherent rather than expanding arbitrarily.

Current established capability includes:

• extreme speed and strength;
• Vector Sovereignty / spatial force control: redirecting, cancelling, stopping, reversing, or reassigning trajectories and force;
• Black Flame Continuity: regeneration fast enough to restore tissue while a blade is still passing through it;
• Black Flame constructs and destructive application, including wounds that can resist ordinary closure and precise disruption of active energy transfer;
• Seamstep / spatial rifts for movement, with broader rift use available for summoning or deploying creatures when the story calls for it;
• perfect or near-perfect morphic disguise for infiltration;
• perceptual/sensor desynchronization around disguises;
• an unfolded crown/halo structure that supports parallel tracking and control;
• a black sword as a serious combat weapon when Vesper stops relying on casual one-finger dominance.

Reveal progression:

1. Archive 7-G: disguised Vesper redirects a bullet with one finger.
2. Cerberus phase: Cerberus itself treats Vesper as a boundary it should not cross.
3. Black Archive Node K-0: humanity’s best organized hero unit forces Vesper to expose more of her combat toolkit, including an incomplete crown geometry, but not her full true form or personal name.
4. H-9 future preview: Victoria’s now-superhuman team attacks together and Vesper neutralizes the assault with one finger; her neck heals before Sofia’s blade finishes passing through it. Victoria learns the name Vesper here.
5. Later arcs reveal additional layers gradually.
6. Many major arcs later, Victoria may defeat Vesper for real. Vesper does not intend, arrange, or desire that loss.

H-9 continuity

H-9 is not one of the Master’s experiments. It belongs to another source/lineage connected to the broader anomalous phenomenon.

However, H-9’s core incorporates material taken from an abandoned site once associated with the Master. Vesper therefore has a legitimate recovery objective after Victoria’s team destroys H-9: the organism itself is not his creation, but part of what was used to build it was taken from his old holdings.

This resolves why Vesper can accurately treat the core as something she is recovering without retconning H-9 into one of the Master’s projects.

By H-9, Victoria remembers Vesper not only from Archive 7-G but also from the Black Archive incident and its aftermath. The H-9 scene must reflect that history while preserving the first direct personal-name reveal.

Veyr assassination test

The Master orders President Alek Voran killed to test whether political systems preserve judgment under simultaneous anomalous and geopolitical pressure.

His intended condition is ambiguity, not an unavoidable false flag:

• Vesper must not fabricate evidence directly blaming Asterra.
• She also must not erase every trace that an anomalous third party may exist.
• If Asterra and Veyr earn the third-party hypothesis by comparing evidence, that is a valid outcome of the experiment rather than Vesper accidentally ruining it.

OVA / side-story continuity

• OVAs live under ../ovas/ and are side-story material, not automatic mainline canon.
• An OVA may be canon-compatible without having a fixed place in the chapter chronology.
• OVAs cannot override this file, change the hierarchy, secretly make Vesper disloyal, or force a tragic/final ending onto the mainline.
• The emotional relationship guardrails for Master and Vesper still apply in comedy, slice-of-life, and alternate-future OVAs.

Intentionally unresolved

Do not prematurely lock down:

• Vesper’s exact species, birthplace, or true upper age;
• the Master’s original identity, species, or exact age;
• which of the two is chronologically older;
• when and how they first met;
• the event or history that made Vesper choose him as her Master;
• whether Black Flame originated with either of them or predates both;
• the true nature of Glass Seven;
• the precise accident/path that produced the unique stable Glass-derived sample;
• the full mechanism by which that sample enables Project NULL;
• the identity of the outside lineage/source responsible for H-9;
• the full reason the Master stands above Vesper;
• Null Star’s final limits and ultimate fate.

Rival Veyr Black Flame branch / Ash

Chapters 20–30 establish a separate Veyran Black Flame research branch led by Dr. Corinne Mavrek, with Ilyan Drask, an unidentified silver-coated woman, and an unrevealed ancient specimen.

This branch is independent of the Master. It detects early NULL-01 continuity-denial disturbances and accelerates its human field trials. The Master becomes aware that an external branch exists but initially chooses observation rather than immediate Project NULL deployment.

Ash rules

Ash is a finite experimental platform, not unlimited magic.

• A dose contains prepared Black Flame substrate plus a temporary structural template.
• Restoration/regeneration derives from the common Black Flame continuity mechanism.
• Other expressions are deliberately encoded batch templates rather than arbitrary new powers.
• Every expression spends finite substrate.
• Collectors recover residual substrate, mutable receipts/implant telemetry, and unused doses.
• Broad-spectrum light remains a meaningful counter because maintaining Black Flame expression under strong light consumes substrate faster.
• The first public major Ash criminal is Rafe Kord.
• Darek Holt exposes the collector/receipt architecture.
• Tomas Renn is originally a trained student of Mavrek’s laboratory, not Imani’s; Imani later hijacks administrator-level control of his implant.
• Ivo Serrin is a pressure-gradient Ash operative later absorbed into Imani’s system.

Imani’s takeover

Imani does not invent Ash and Ash does not remove her moral agency.

After K-0 she secretly takes a half-dose, integrates Ash with Stillglass, expands her null capability, falsifies telemetry, and compromises the rival laboratory’s control infrastructure. She later seizes Batch Five, evidence, precursors, personnel, and distributed production/logistics nodes.

Imani’s regime controls Ash supply and Ash users, not the minds of the civilian population. Any crime-reduction claim in this arc refers to unauthorized Ash violence, not total ordinary crime.

Sera, the first domain, and the primary Stillglass lattice

Sera confronts Imani alone under a narrow intelligence plan: authenticated position burst, agreed exit, extraction team at the outer doors on telemetry loss, and a separate medical alarm authorizing immediate breach. The domain isolates both carriers; the packet preserves the start of the alarm, and the team breaches when it arrives. A warped pressure shutter prevents timely intervention. Imani withdraws the intact primary lattice using an emergency cradle and escapes through a prepared drainage rail.

Imani’s blue glass-water environment is a prepared Ash–Stillglass domain physically sustained by a Stillglass lattice and infrastructure. It is not proof that Imani can freely create universes.

Sera breaks the first domain using her established neuromuscular overclock and physical output.

Sera has no momentum-storage ability.

Stillglass redistributes impact. Sera’s final strike enters an already path-dependent lattice previously altered by Vesper’s Black Flame and later Ash integration. The first domain collapses before the redistribution finishes, leaving an unfinished stress/fracture path.

Before Sera’s death, copied Stillglass suits use newly manufactured secondary lattices; the unique primary remains intact. After Sera’s strike, Imani preserves and fragments it because replacement material cannot reproduce its interference history. Fragment-bearing operators use separate clocks and phase offsets to prevent stress reconnection. During Breakwater, Imani overrides a recorded shared-phase prohibition to recover coordinated suppression. The resulting connection lets the unfinished stress path complete, shattering the fragments.

Imani deliberately kills Sera after the first domain has already broken. A surviving twelve-second recorder fragment establishes deliberate intent.

Operation Breakwater

Breakwater is not a conventional decapitation strike.

Victoria assumes Imani knows Aegis and government doctrine. Independent teams therefore attack substrate preparation, encoders, collectors, medical support, logistics, and training cells using different tactical packages and delayed information. This starves the distributed network before the final hydroelectric assault.

Breakwater has three objectives: capture Imani, dismantle the network, and recover enough source/formula/template information to prevent blind reconstruction.

The wider network is substantially dismantled but does not switch off when Imani disappears. Several residual cells remain unlocated or autonomous. Seized active precursor stock is deactivated after forensic sampling; calibrated encoders and trained personnel are removed from the branch’s control. Source notes and an abducted researcher do not restore this lost production capacity.

Final domain power guardrails

The large blue realm at the hydroelectric bunker is physically coupled to the dam, Ash reservoir, power infrastructure, and Stillglass fragment network. Imani cannot freely summon it elsewhere.

Aegis members remain inside their established limits:

• Kaia uses only a small number of prepared vector lanes/anchors.
• Dorian changes only his own effective mass and inertia.
• Niko requires viable physical anchors and finite-load lines.
• Anya alters immediate remembered sequence/expectation only.

Sera’s lattice fracture removes suppression but does not defeat Imani by itself. The surviving team still has to win the fight and prevent contaminated Ash concentrate from entering the spillway.

Dr. Corinne Mavrek at Breakwater

After Imani is defeated and the assault force is exhausted, Dr. Corinne Mavrek personally enters the ruined bunker and abducts Imani.

Mavrek’s actual anomalous ability/mechanism remains unrevealed.

The current empirical observation is that deliberate hostile actions directed at her repeatedly coincide with severe adverse consequences to the initiating personnel or nearby allies: weapon failure, accidental falls, structural collapse, ricochets, jams, and friendly injuries. Mavrek removes Niko’s floor attachments before lifting the cuffed Imani. Passive exterior tracking leads to a drainage culvert; an opened inspection gate and tire marks establish a prepared escape route without identifying her anomalous mechanism.

Do not canonize this yet as probability manipulation, fate control, karma, automatic reflection, a curse, or any other mechanism. Intent requirements, range, control, causality, exhaustion, and whether Mavrek actively chooses outcomes remain unresolved.

At the current endpoint:

• Imani Saye is alive, missing, and in/after Mavrek’s custody.
• Dr. Corinne Mavrek is unlocated.
• Ilyan Drask and the silver-coated woman are unlocated.
• The ancient specimen has been removed from the Veyran monastery laboratory.
• Several Ash-linked cells remain unlocated.
• Cerberus remains ACTIVE — UNLOCATED.
• NULL-01 remains active.

Operational constraints clarified through Chapter 30

• NULL signatures versus denial: passive Black Flame reference instruments can detect a weak phase signature at long range. Actual denial remains local. Remote cultures do not stop restoring; the rival branch locates a broad region by independent station timing. Null reacts to a reference plate inside its chamber, not to an unseen compass bearing.

• Tomas containment: external control channels are isolated. A hostile command already queued during diagnostics executes locally, exposing the separate stored-command risk.
• Prepared domains: reflected motion and connected movement require real site anchors, consume Ash substrate and power, and remain inside the prepared boundary. A domain cannot create a universe, duplicate unlimited energy, or grant free movement outside its network. Fragment failure removes suppression and stable mapping; charged residual fields, pumps, and control hardware require physical shutdown.
